How Textera collects, uses and protects your information while turning audio and video into documents and subtitles.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: when you sign in, we receive your email address and basic profile information through Firebase Authentication.
- Uploaded files: the audio or video files you submit, plus the transcripts and output files generated from them.
- Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Technical data: basic request data such as browser type and timestamps needed to operate and secure the service.
2. How we use your information
- To transcribe your files and deliver documents, subtitles and audio outputs.
- To link conversions to your account so you can access them on any device.
- To process payments, prevent fraud and respond to support requests.
3. Third-party services
We rely on trusted providers to operate Textera: Google Firebase for authentication, database and file storage; OpenAI for speech-to-text transcription; and Stripe for payments. Your data is shared with these providers only as needed to deliver the service.
4. Data retention and your rights
Your conversions remain available in your account until you delete them. You can delete any conversion from your library, which removes the associated output files.

5. Security and updates
Files and records are processed over encrypted connections and stored with our cloud providers. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the Last updated date above.
